our 38th season
New London Village Pottery
was founded by Daphne
Large in 1973
after graduating from Nova Scotia
College of Art and Design. The retail shop, gallery and pottery studio
are open six months a year in New
London, Prince Edward Island while pottery is produced year round.
Christine
Campbell, first
joined New London Village Pottery in 1974, and as an accomplished
potter, has played a key role in developing the studio's successful
line of
products.
The newest member of the team to join
Village Pottery
is Isako Suzuki, a talented, Japanese-trained potter who is while
bringing her own style to her work, comes from a recognized family
tradition of fine pottery.

The shop has also had over 35 loyal
artisans supplying New London Village Pottery over the years, and are
pleased to carry the work of PEI potters Kathy Ethridge, Ellen Burge,
Candy Gallant, and Christopher Dahn.
We are pleased to feature the pottery
necklaces of Suzanne Scott.
The gallery on the second floor features
the original fabric
art of Margaret England. Also featured in
the gallery is the paintings of Rebecca Krupke
and Geraldine Ysselstein and the photography of Mike England.
Our gallery also includes the colourful weaving and
hand-felted work of artisans Elaine Schuller & Louise Lortie of
Fibre Ensemble.
In addition to pottery, paintings,
weaving, jewellery, clothing and gourmet foods the shop carries music
and books by Canadian East Coast musicians and writers.

Located in an 1855 building with a colourful history
- it was
moved
in 1905 and again in 1994 - the historic structure has served
as a Presbyterian manse, carpentry
shop, general store, post
office, gas station and finally an auto body shop before becoming a
pottery
studio.
