Daphne was born and raised in Charlottetown, PEI to a family of entrepreneurs. Her father, Bob Large was station manager at CFCY radio while her mother, Betty Large, became the well-known “Storyteller” with the Sleepytown Express.
Daphne graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design(NSCAD) in 1973 with a degree in Fine Art & Education. She opened up Village Pottery and started producing and selling pottery during the summer months. Over the years, Daphne has taught several pottery courses on P.E.I and her work has been featured in a variety of exhibitions.
Daphne has been active in various arts organizations and served as Chair of the PEI Council of the Arts. In 2004 she received the Outstanding Retailer award from the Atlantic Canada Crafts Awards of Excellence.
Daphne is married to Ian Scott and together they have 3 children; Rob, Andrew and Suzanne. In her free-time, Daphne loves to travel and paint.
